In Alabama and Mississippi, there was a Baptist Church around every corner. In Tennessee, the most prevalent thing was the family cemetery. Apparently every family has their own separate cemetery. They are everywhere, spread across the landscape. Some are quite elaborate, and they are on some prime real estate.
